Application Requirements for Power of Attorney

Presence

The applicant(s) and all the witnesses should be present at the Consulate General with a completed application form and required documents.\

The following persons and documents MUST be present at the Consulate General during your appointment.

Application Form

The client should carefully complete the application form in Dari or Pashto, paying special attention to names, dates, figures, and places. The application should also clearly mention the subject of the Power of Attorney and the limits of the Attorney’s authority.

Required documents and witnesses

The following persons and documents should be available in the Consulate General:

Power of Attorney for Marriage Certificate:
- One of the spouses (husband or wife) who lives in the UAE should visit the Consulate General with: – A request letter outlining the services required and providing information on the date and place of marriage; – A copy of Tazkira or valid Afghan passport and two recent photos (size: 3×4 cm) of both spouses.
  1. Two witnesses (adult & male) with their copies of Tazkira or Afghan passport and two recent photos (size: 3×4 cm);
  2. Copy of Tazkira and photo of the attorney/legal representative in Afghanistan.
  3. All other Types of Power of Attorney:
  4. All the client/s with copies of their Tazkira or Afghan passports with two recent photos (size: 3×4 cm);
  5. Two witnesses with copies of their Tazkira or Afghan passport and two recent photos (size: 3×4 cm);
  6. A copy of Tazkira or a passport and two photos of the legal representative in Afghanistan or any other country are required.
  7. In property-related cases, if the property is inherited, a copy of the Certificate of Inheritance and a copy of the proof of property’s ownership (Sale Deed/ Qabala) or its details are needed.

Fee

An applicant should pay 125 USD for one power of attorney.
Attestation of a power of attorney will be free of charge if issued in Afghanistan and attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It will be charged 125 USD if issued in other countries.
